'Oz: The Great and Powerful' trailer: Sam Raimi takes on Wizard of Oz

Oz: The Great and Powerful has premiered its first trailer.The fantasy adventure, Raimi's first movie since 2009's horror Drag Me to Hell, centres on the early years of L Frank Baum's iconic character the Wizard of Oz.
The film sees Raimi reunite with his Spider-Man star James Franco, who takes on the role of Oscar Diggs, a circus magician who's transported from Kansas to the Land of Oz.

Upon arrival he meets three witches - Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams) - who doubt that he's a great wizard in waiting.
Oz's supporting cast includes Abigail Spencer, Zach Braff and Joey King.
Disney will release the movie on March 18, 2013.
Looks dreadfully similar to the awful Alice in Wonderland, I have faith that Raimi can pull it off though.

it looks very alice and wonderland to me:/ i was thinking this would be cheery and have some of the same sets and feel as the wizard of oz

They probably would have if they had the rights to the film and not the book, but they only have the rights to the latter.
