Alex Proyas to direct 'Joe Golem and the Drowning City'

Constantin Film has acquired the rights to Mike Mignola and Christopher Golden's illustrated novel, according to Deadline.
The live-action movie will be filmed in the Knowing director's native Australia.
The novel centres around Molly McHugh, an assistant to a noted psychic who flees through the canals of a sunken Manhattan and falls in with a very strange pair after her master is kidnapped.
Dark Horse Comics recently announced a limited edition hardback version of Joe Golem.
Proyas is also in line to direct The Unpleasant Profession of Jonathan Hoag.
