The Dark Knight Rises has received a standing ovation at an early screening.A small group of bloggers and fans attended the screening in Los Angeles last week, and were reportedly so impressed by the film that they honoured it with a standing ovation.

Reactions posted online via Twitter and Facebook have been similarly positive.
"You people seriously have no idea the gut punch you have coming in The Dark Knight Rises. I can't wait to see it again. And again. And again," wrote one viewer on Twitter.
"I, myself, cried twice...once out of sadness and once out of pure geeky uncontrollable happiness," said another on Facebook.

"Wow quite speechless at the moment. It was everything I wanted it to be," Vince Peluso concluded on Facebook. "Some fans will find certain aspects controversial, but in my eyes everything in the film fit the overall scheme of this instalment and the series in general, and Nolan really couldn't have made it any more epic."
One US press screening last week was shut down an hour into the film, owing to a technical fault.
