Dredd has premiered its first trailer online.Based on the 2000AD comic book antihero Judge Dredd, the action-thriller sees Lord of the Rings star Karl Urban take on the lead role.
The story takes place in Mega-City One where Dredd teams up with a new recruit to take down a terrorist organisation selling a mind-altering drug called Slo-Mo.
Dredd's supporting cast includes Olivia Thirlby as Judge Anderson, with Lena Headey (Game of Thrones) starring as villain Madeline "Ma-Ma" Madrigal.
Judge Dredd creator John Wagner has confirmed that the character will not remove his helmet throughout the film, in keeping with the traditions of the comic.
Dredd will open in UK cinemas on September 7 and the US on September 21.

Okay I was 'anti' film when I saw the trailer and the design of costume, city and lawmaster but now I have seen the light. With Anderson as a rookie then they are setting the plot for the sequel and who do Dredd and Anderson take on together.......... you work it out :)

This looks a bit like if Ridley Scott did The Raid, but it won't be anywhere near as good as that..

I have to add that if you see Dredd as just action stories it looks like this may be the movie for you. If you take it as the satire I believe it was intended to be you have been let down. Again. Intelligent movies don't get big budgets.

Dredd doesn't have a big budget and Dredd as a concept entire is inherently satirical, it's just not always making jokes which people sometimes confuse for satire. 'Brave New World' is satire but it's not funny, peculiar, but not funny.
