Angelina Jolie in Disney's 'Maleficent': First look - picture

Walt Disney Studios has announced the start of production on its new movie Maleficent.Production officially began last Wednesday, June 13 and the company has unveiled an image of star Angelina Jolie as the title character.
Maleficent is scheduled for a US release in 3D on March 14, 2014.
Directed by Oscar-winning production designer Robert Stromberg in his debut picture, the film has been written by Linda Woolverton.
It co-stars Sharlto Copley, Elle Fanning, Sam Riley, Imelda Staunton, Miranda Richardson, Juno Temple and Lesley Manville.
The movie is the untold story of the villain from 1959's Sleeping Beauty, showing the events which turned her away from good and drove her to curse the baby Aurora.
Cinematography comes from Dean Semler, with production design from Gary Freeman, costume design by Anna B Sheppard and make-up from Rick Baker.

hope she gets the accent right. i seem to remember her accent in lara croft was really distracting.

Great another Fairy Tale Movie...what's next a live action Bambi? Sorry Angelina but Tom Hiddleston rocked the horns already as Loki.

This looks absolutely AMAZING. And hopefully it will act as a prequel to yet another dark adaptation more true to the original Brothers' Grimm stories than Disney ever were. I'm loving this current obsession with turning once-merry Disney stories into darker, gothic horrors/thrillers. :D

Agreed! I couldn't flaw the cinematography of 'Snow White', but the cast and storyline did let it down.
