Ray Liotta pays tribute to 'Goodfellas' inspiration Henry Hill

Ray Liotta has paid tribute to former mobster Henry Hill, who passed away yesterday at the age of 69.The actor portrayed Hill in the classic Martin Scorsese movie Goodfellas, which was based on the gangster's rise and fall and his informant work with the FBI.

The role is arguably Liotta's most famous, and helped kick-start his Hollywood career.
Liotta explained that he hardly knew Hill in real life, but was aware of the connection that he will always share with him.
"Although I played Henry Hill in the movie Goodfellas I only met him a few short times so I can't say I knew him, but I do know he lived a complicated life," he told TMZ.
"My heart goes out to his family and may he finally rest in peace."
