The book is an excellent read. I was dragged to the show in London almost 20 years ago and I could not believe what I saw. I listen to the sound track every week in one way or another. It's astounding.
Now, the recent Phantom movie was an abomination, so I am unsure if this film will hit the mark. Fingers crossed.

The film looks good, but whilst Anne Hathaway carries the tune sweetly, it's lacking in emotion. This song should tear peoples hearts out but for the first time ever I was completely unmoved by it. Maybe it would work better in context rather than over a trailer. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the emotions that are produced in the stage version will translate to the big screen when sung by actors who can sing in tune as opposed to singers who can act.

Extended Stella Artois advert..... ??
Looks like they have are going to overdo the schmalz and emotional stuff, which is fine on stage but in a film it can be crass and saccharine.

I've never fancied going to see Les Miserables despite its popularity. Will check the film out to see what all the miserable fuss is about!

Don't like her singing much, a bit wobbly and over-acted. Where's the lovely belt for the end of the song? It might be okay as part of the film, but I can't see myself buying the soundtrack.
