The Hunger Games sequel Catching Fire's script may receive a rewrite from Toy Story 3 scribe Michael Arndt.According to The Hollywood Reporter, Arndt is in talks to work on the initial drafts produced by Slumdog Millionaire writer Simon Beaufoy.

Should Arndt sign on to the project, he will have to work quickly thanks to star Jennifer Lawrence's busy schedule. The actress is due to begin filming the sequel to X-Men: First Class in January, 2013.
Lionsgate is currently hoping to get Catching Fire into production by late summer for a November 22, 2013 release date.
In 2007, Arndt won an Oscar for his Little Miss Sunshine screenplay.
In April, Hunger Games director Gary Ross stepped down from helming Catching Fire, citing a busy work schedule.
I Am Legend director Francis Lawrence was chosen to take his place in late April.
Watch Jennifer Lawrence talking about The Hunger Games below:

Sam Dean Rondeau agreed! catching fire is definitely different to the first book, but since half of it focuses on the relationship between katniss/peeta and katniss/gale, i think it's important that they focus more on that rather than trying to pack as much action into it as the first one did
regardless of who is at the helm of catching fire i can't wait

I'm excited. Two Oscar writer scribes at the helm. I think it has the chance of matching The Hunger Games and although I'll miss Gary Ross, there hopefully will not be any more shaky cam! :D

Harrison Hedges on the contrary I found it to be pretty good. The end was a pretty good cliffhanger.

Sam Dean Rondeau Catching Fire was much worse than The Hunger Games anyway, it needs to differ from the book.

Paul Charlton I'm just worried that without Gary Ross working on it it might not be as good or as close to the book as the first.
