'Hunger Games', 'Bridesmaids' lead MTV Movie Award nominations

Bridesmaids and The Hunger Games lead the 2012 MTV Movie Awards nominations with eight entries each.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 and The Help join them in the 'Movie Of The Year' category.















Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy have three nominations each, with both up for 'Best Comedic Performance' and 'Best Gut-Wrenching Performance', and Wiig adding 'Best Female Performance' and McCarthy 'Breakthrough Performance'.

Jennifer Lawrence also picked up a trio of nods, for 'Best Female Performance', 'Best Fight' and 'Best Kiss'.

There are five new categories at this year's event, including 'Best On-Screen Dirtbag' and 'Best On-Screen Transformation'.

The winners are decided by public vote, with the ceremony to be held on June 3.
