Mark Ruffalo signed six-picture Hulk deal

Mark Ruffalo has signed a six-movie Hulk contract.

The Avengers actor is now tied in to appear in five further Marvel Studios films.

Ruffalo revealed the news during an interview with Collider, opening up about how impressed he was when he first received the Avengers script and how it grew even stronger and funnier with each revision.

"I'm not selling it now - I was so impressed and blow away by how much [Joss Whedon] packs into this movie and how exciting it is and what a great ride it is, and how it just works on every level," he added of seeing the movie for the first time.

Ruffalo has said that he would like to star in a solo Hulk film.

Co-star Robert Downey Jr said that he always felt that Mark was the guy to play Bruce Banner".

The Hulk was previously portrayed by Eric Bana and Ed Norton, the latter of whom fought a war of words after he was publicly excluded from the lineup of Joss Whedon's movie.

Norton called the move "low and dishonest" after Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige said that they were looking for a "team player" to take on the role.

The Avengers - which is already showing in the UK under the title Marvel Avengers Assemble - debuts on May 4 in the US.
