Rothman told Collider that Trank "is going to come on and work on a take, or a vision, that he has for it, so we're very excited about that".
Trank's specific involvement on the project remains unconfirmed.
"Well, I think there's a possibility of [him directing]," said Rothman. "I mean he's going to develop it now, and then it depends on the script."
Trank was first rumoured to be attached to the third Fox film of the classic Marvel franchise in January.
He has also been linked to Sony's Spider-Man spinoff Venom and Warner Bros comic adaptation The Red Star.
Trank is due to return for Fox's Chronicle 2.

Yes I was aware of all the mess of the rights and such, which Marvel being bought out by Disney made worse. But you're right about Sue and Reed, I only really thought Ben was likable in those versions. I just hope they have some foresight in case some kind of agreement can be reached over the rights issues should there come a time when more crossovers between groups becomes necessary.

Natalie Penna They cant do that because of rights issues. Also recasting would be a good as they messed up Sue and Reed anyway...

Which is kind of a shame when you consider the whole Thanos (sp?) storyline they hinted at and in the original storyline Wolverine was present in the battle as were most of the Marvel superheroes. I hope they don't wind up changing it too drastically when it comes about.

Never going to happen it's not going to be made by Marvel so Spider-man, X-men and the fantastic four are never going to meet and not with the Avengers
