Stellan Skarsgard, Hiroyuki Sanada cast in WWII drama 'Railway Man'

and Hiroyuki Sanada have joined the cast of The Railway Man
Based on Eric Lomax's memoir of the same name, The Railway Man
follows Lomax (Colin Firth), a former British army officer sent as a prisoner to work on the Thai-Burma railway during World War II.

Skarsgard will play Lomax's wartime buddy, while Sanada will portray Lomax's tormentor who he meets again years later, reports Deadline
Directed by Jonathan Teplitzky, The Railway Man
also stars Jeremy Irvine of War Horse
fame and Nicole Kidman as Patti, the woman who helps Lomax.
Skarsgard can be seen in The Avengers
, out on May 4 in the US and already playing in the UK.
Skarsgard told Digital Spy of working on the Marvel movie
: "I haven't seen the film yet but it's the same character as in the first Thor
film, although something happens in The Avengers
which changes him and which gave me the pleasure of playing something different."
