The trailer for Chloe Moretz's new film Hick has been unveiled.

Moretz plays a 13-year-old runaway who finds romance and danger on the road when she escapes her alcoholic parents.

The newly-released promo sees Moretz's character Luli brandishing a gun and embarking on a tempestuous romance with an older man (Eddie Redmayne).

Blake Lively, Alec Baldwin, Juliette Lewis and Rory Culkin also star in Hick.

The drama is the latest project from filmmaker Derick Martini, whose 2008 movie Lymelife earned him an International Critics' Award (FIPRESCI) at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Martini previously discussed Hick's sexual content, promising that the movie "won't be gratuitous".

Hick, which is based on a novel by Andrea Portes, opens on May 11 in US cinemas.

A UK release date has not yet been announced.
