"The Joker didn't care," Hardy said. "He just wanted to see the world burn, and he was a master of chaos and destruction, unscrupulous and crazy. Bane is not that guy. There is a very meticulous and calculated way about Bane.
"There is a huge orchestration of organisation to his ambition. He is also a physical threat to Batman. There is nothing vague about Bane. No jokes. He's a very clean, clear villain."
Hardy previously addressed concerns that the audience will have difficulty understanding Bane's muffled voice, assuring cinema goers that they will "tune to its setting" as the film progresses.
Bane first appeared in DC Comics' Batman: Vengeance of Bane #1 as part of the 'Knightfall' storyline, in which the villain broke the Caped Crusader's back.
The Dark Knight Rises opens in cinemas on July 20, 2012.

Not everyone knows who Bane is, not everyone has read the comic books, some people are coming to Batman via the movies.

Still haven't worked out why there is a welsh voice singing the American National Anthem. Were no American boys avaiable to sing that day?
