'The Avengers': New pictures released - photo gallery

Chris Evans's Captain America features heavily in the latest promotional stills from Marvel's forthcoming superhero blockbuster, which will debut next month in the UK (under the title Avengers Assemble on April 26) and May 4 in the US.
Joss Whedon's movie sees Steve Rogers (Evans) thawed out in the 21st century and leading a team of heroes - including Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) - in a fight to save the world from Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and his invading army.
