Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence join 'Serena' adaptation

Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence will star in the movie adaptation of Serena.

The film reunites the pair with director David O Russell, who they both recently worked with on The Silver Linings Notebook.



Serena will be based on Ron Rash's novel of the same name.

The story centres around a ruthless couple who set out to build a timber empire in North Carolina in 1929.

Upon learning that she is infertile, Serena Pemberton sets out to kill husband George's illegitimate son.

Lawrence is due to star in the highly-anticipated action movie The Hunger Games, released in March.

Cooper will appear in a third instalment of the comedy franchise The Hangover.
