The Amazing Spider-Man's official synopsis has been released by Columbia Pictures. The studio confirmed that Marc Webb's series reboot will focus on Peter Parker's investigation of his parents' disappearance, following his discovery of a mysterious briefcase.

"The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker, an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben and Aunt May. Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today," the synopsis reads.
"Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy, and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance - leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors, his father's former partner.
"As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors's alter ego The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero."
Amazing Spider-Man stars Andrew Garfield in the title role, with Emma Stone as love interest Gwen Stacy. Rhys Ifans will play antagonist The Lizard, while Martin Sheen and Sally Field will portray Uncle Ben and Aunt May, respectively.
The Amazing Spider-Man will be released at 2D, 3D and IMAX cinemas on July 3 worldwide.

One of my favourite story arcs that! So powerful. Until years later when they went back to it and tried to say that before her death Gwen had gone to France and had an affair with Normon Osbourne and bore him twins. Which kinda messed up her memory

There hasn't ever been a good comics story involving Pete's parents. I've gone from being excited to being wary about this but we shall see...
