The Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol actor is reportedly being pursued for the role of Wee Hughie by director Adam McKay for the comic book movie adaptation.
The character in Garth Ennis's Dynamite Entertainment title was based on the likeness of Pegg by artist Darick Robertson.
"I have [read the script], it's really good. I'd love to do it, if it came about," Pegg told MTV News.
"My fear is that I'm too old to play Wee Hughie, now. But you know, obviously, the character was drawn, at least, around my face."
The Boys focuses on Wee Hughie after he is drafted into an organisation that polices superheroes following the death of his girlfriend during a battle between two superhumans.
McKay has also been pursuing Russell Crowe for his film.

Simon Pegg is AMAZING! I want to see protocol but can't because it has Tom Cruise in it. Can't stand him. I might suffer through it just to see Pegg though!

If they do a Boys film they have to pull no punches and make it as graphic, violent and down right awesome as the comics! And yeah. It has to be Simon Pegg in that role.

The role was made for him to play, hope his just playing it down.
If Aaron Eckhart is not "The Homelander" am disappointed too.
