Paul Rudd is to star in a one-night-only stage version of The Princess Bride on December 15.
The My Idiot Brother actor will play the lead role of Westley in a re-enactment of the classic 1987 fantasy comedy, originally played by Cary Elwes.
Up in the Air director Jason Reitman has recently staged theatre versions of movies at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art as part of the Live Read series.
He revealed to Jay Leno: "This Thursday I have a group of actors and we're going to read The Princess Bride for a live audience. I'm announcing for the first time right here in the lead role of Westley we're going to have Paul Rudd."
Reitman has previously produced stage versions of The Breakfast Club with Jennifer Garner and The Office's Mindy Kaling, and The Apartment with Natalie Portman and Steve Carell.
