Warner Bros has released a special trailer as part of its submission of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 for next year's Academy Awards. The studio is promoting the movie on a special 'For Your Consideration' minisite in the hope that the Academy will recognise the film in several categories for the 2012 ceremony, including 'Best Picture'.
As the eighth instalment in the long-running fantasy franchise, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 served as an epic conclusion to the ten-year-long saga adapted from JK Rowling's popular children's series.
The Academy announced several rule changes in June, which means that it can now nominate anywhere between five and ten entries in the 'Best Picture' category, as opposed to the set number of ten entries nominated in past years.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 is due to be released on DVD and Blu-ray on November 11 in the US and on December 2 in the UK.
The final Harry Potter film recently became the fastest-selling DVD and Blu-ray of all time on Amazon.co.uk.

Why shouldn't they try? That's like saying "I don't think I can win this contest" so you don't enter. You never know until you do.

I think anyone who believes HP8 genuinely has a chance of winning Best Picture at the Oscars is very optimistic. Will it get a nomination? Possibly, now that they have up to 10 and a tendency to throw some blockbusters in there. But win? No. It's just not the kind of film the Academy choose.

Why on earth are the Americans getting the DVD & Blu ray on November 11th and we have to wait until the 2nd November? Its a BRITISH franchise for f***s sake. JK sort this atrocious mess out! I'm fuming!
