Russell Brand to star in Diablo Cody's 'Lamb of God'

Russell Brand has reportedly been offered a lead role in Diablo Cody's directorial debut Lamb of God.

The Arthur star is being sought for the character of William, while Footloose actress and Dancing with the Stars pro Julianne Hough is said to be in the running to play the female lead.

Lamb of God will centre on a young religious conservative who has a crisis of faith after a plane crash. She takes to Las Vegas to live the life of a sinner, only to find herself going back to God, reports Twitch.

Diablo Cody
Cody won an Academy Award for her Juno screenplay in 2008 and penned the Amanda Seyfried/Megan Fox horror Jennifer's Body.

The screenwriter is also working on Young Adult with Juno director Jason Reitman and the remake of The Evil Dead.
