The Amazing Spider-Man: Andrew Garfield's superhero reboot - pictures

The Amazing Spider-Man will relaunch Marvel's iconic webslinger with Andrew Garfield stepping into Tobey Maguire's superhero role.Marc Webb's comic book adaptation delves back into the origins of Peter Parker to focus on his romance with first love Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone). Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Martin Sheen, Sally Field and Irrfan Khan round out the cast.
The Amazing Spider-Man will open in cinemas on July 3, 2012.

Toby Miguire and the old director portrayed the old peter parker, but we're well into the 21st century and nerds, peter, don't look like the peter portrayed in the old spiderman. the conventions used in the old spiderman movies are obsolete and it needed revamping. this looks promising, the lead actor reminds me of the facebook creator though. I'm not sure about the name, Amazing spiderman means this era is taking place in the marvel alternate universe, in that case, spiderman is supposed to be black! :S

I can't believe how negative people are on this website. No one's even seen this film yet but already people are writing it off. Looks pretty good to me. Some people need to get a mental health check. Make that your 2012 resolution!

what is it with films these days. its not out for 7 months.. that's still over half a year why do they feel the need to give so much away all the time?

Agree. people who say this is abetter fit have obviously never read a SM comic in their life. From the tone of voice Sam Raimi had in his movies it was spot on.
Peter Parker is not a turmented love strucked Emo.
