Michael Sheen 'knew nothing about Allen film'

Michael Sheen has revealed that he knew nothing about Midnight in Paris when he met with director Woody Allen.

Speaking with Coming Soon, Sheen admitted that Allen told him nothing about the part that he would be playing in the film.

"[Allen] said to me, 'You might be right for this movie I'm doing in the summer'. That was all I knew about the film, I knew nothing more about it," said Sheen.

He continued: "Then I got sent my scenes and a card from Woody saying, 'I'd love you to do this'... So I read the scenes, but of course, I still had no idea what the film was really about because the central conceit of the film I wasn't a part of, so I didn't get that."

The Breaking Dawn actor recently described his girlfriend and Midnight in Paris co-star Rachel McAdams as wonderful, confirming that the the two have been a couple for a while.

The pair made their first public appearance together at the Cannes International Film Festival. Sheen and McAdams were first reported to be dating in October.
