'Hellboy' actor to lead US biker series

Hellboy actor Ron Perlman has signed up to star in US biker drama Sons Of Anarchy.

The show, written by The Shield executive producer Kurt Sutter, will see a biker club fighting to protect its home town.

Perlman will play the president of the Sons of Anarchy and stepfather of lead character Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam).

The project is being developed as a darkly comedic series for FX.
