New Super Mario Bros 2 buyers who pick up the game digitally will receive twice as many Club Nintendo coins as those who purchase a physical copy.Customers who acquire the platform sequel through Nintendo's eShop will be rewarded with 100 coins, compared to the 50 handed to users who buy it on cartridge.

To claim the coins, players must link their 3DS to a Club Nintendo account before ordering the game. Once the transaction is complete, users will be prompted to take a survey when they log into the service, and will receive the coins upon completion.
New Super Mario Bros 2 is the first 3DS title to be released simultaneously via digital and physical media.
It will also be the only first-party Nintendo title to offer premium DLC content, following in the footsteps of Square Enix's Final Fantasy Theatrhythm.
New Super Mario Bros 2 is released for 3DS on August 17 in Europe and August 19 in North America.

No freegin way I'm buying a digital copy. I don't care about the coins for Club Nintendo. I can't resell a digital copy or trade it for other games..

Don't buy it at all, if you're going to sell it.

I thought it was stars that you received when you bought a Nintendo game for use in Club Nintendo? Have they changed it to coins now?

Nice try Nintendo, but no dice. How about reducing the price of the digital version, seeing as it would take up precious memory card space?
