Responding to a question about the Battlefield 4 beta on the game's official Twitter account, a DICE spokesperson said not to trust unofficial information.
They wrote: "If you don't see it on our official site, http://Battlefield.com , then it's not official. ^ED"
A further tweet said that the game existed only in the hearts of minds of Battlefield fans.
"Battlefield 4 exists only in the hearts and minds of our devotees, for the time being. ^LA"
Battlefield 4 is yet to be officially unveiled by EA, but the company has admitted that it is working on a new entry in the series, and the Origin listing appears to offer confirmation.
Battlefield 3 is already one of the company's most successful games, breaking its shipping record with ten million copies to retailers on launch day.
EA launched the Battlefield Premium subscription service last month, granting users access to new content two weeks before it is made available to the public for an annual fee of $49.99 (£34.99).
Developer DICE recently added the 'Matches' feature to the game's multiplayer to help users who rent a dedicated server to coordinate online games with friends and squad members.

There will be one but it's a LONG way off.
After all the Premium DLC package as it stands now lasts till next March

And given EA's release schedule history, they will likely push it out in Late October 2013, so there is still plenty of time for it. Everyone knows that EA wants the Activision crown for having the best selling game of the year and they can only do that by releasing a game every year.
BF3 came out late October last year, and the new Medal Of Honor: Warfighter game is coming out EXACTLY the same time this year, late October!
The pattern dictates that BF4 will come out Late October 2013. So the DLC comes out in March next year? Doesn't matter in the slightest.
Truth is, DICE probably already have a skeleton team (a small portion of senior team members) working on the new game, maybe Frostbite 2.5 but i won't push that rumour out there. So the majority of the DICE team is currently working on BF3, supporting current DLC and engineering for servers and creating updates and such. But by the time the LAST pack comes out? The rest of the DICE team will join that skeleton team in finishing off the rest of BF4. I estimate that January 2013 is when that will commence, and you will then see the first big reveal of it in time for E3 in June time.
Supporting a current game means nothing and won't stop a company from developing others. Take Assassin's Creed as the best example, they had a skeleton team working away from the team that made Revelations and Brotherhood in order to create a new engine for Assassin's Creed 3, and as soon as Revelations went out the factory door they joined the rest of the team to make the new game.
People won't like to hear it, but DICE are now being turned into the new Infinity Ward, being forced to churn out new games and tech support every 12 months for a game in the same way IW did with CoD for years. The only difference is that EA have different named franchises in Battlefield and Medal Of Honor, but they are doing exactly the same as Activision in order to release a new game each year.
1. Both publishers give their developers 2 years on a game. Danger Close have had 2 years to do Medal Of Honor: Warfighter and Treyarch have had 2 years on Call Of Duty: Black Ops II.
2. Both publishers insist on using the same engine in their games. Frostbite 2.0 for EA and the IW Engine for Activision.
3. Both publishers won't allow for delays to meet tight deadlines. EA forced DICE to release BF3 despite an initially poor Beta and Activision have never failed to miss a CoD release date in the last decade.
4. Both publishers go crazy marketing. Both of the new games had trailers air during the Champions League final, which would have cost them an astronomical amount and both went crazy at E3 too.
EA vowed to destroy Activision last year.
But they have become their enemy.

just remember to put a decent single player campaign in this time. BF3 campaign was a steaming pile of ***** with an amazing multiplayer.

So I'm guessing we won't be seeing a BETA in early 2013... Of course we won't be < Sarcasm.

based on the timing of the BF3 beta, if the MOH preorder was true we would expect BF4 beta late 2013 easrly 2014

The pre-order is true, please don't tell me you fall for this cover up... -.-

im sure BF4 will come out, and im sure the offer is real. but i think EA is jumping the gun and offering something which has not been confirmed by DICE yet

It's not that they're jumping the gun - it all has to be done in co-ordination with their PR and marketing. Some game sites will pay for exclusive access to the game ahead of others and other related deals like that, so until they can get all that stuff squared away and ready, they'll appear to "sell out" or distance themselves from EA.

somewhere @ Dice and/or EA, some poor marketing person is in a dark cupboard getting a hiding!!!
July 16th 2012 at 5:19pm
It came from EA's own mouth. ON THEIR STORE.
It doesn't need to be "announced", we know it's officially coming.
