Featuring characters from the show, as well as the voice and likeness of Liam McIntyre, the game sees players strive to become a gladiatorial legend by training inside the ludus and fighting in the arena.
The game will contain deep customisation options, allowing users to choose from thousands of weapon combinations and skill perks in order to create their own gladiator.
Alternatively, players can pick the likes of Spartacus and Crixus to do battle in local or online multiplayer modes.
It was recently announced that Spartacus is to end after its upcoming third season, which is to be subtitled War of the Damned.
Spartacus executive Steven DeKnight has teased that season three will be "very dirty" and "ethically muddled".
The popular series has earned numerous awards and nominations, including Lucy Lawless's Saturn Award win for 'Best Supporting Actress' in 2011.
Spartacus: War of the Damned is expected to premiere in January 2013.

Needs to be a proper adult game or it's not worth it.
