Tomb Raider's timed exclusive DLC will be set after the events of the main story, it has been revealed.Brand director Karl Stewart said the content, which was announced as a timed exclusive to Xbox 360 at E3, will not feel like content missing from the main game.

"We had the opportunity to sort of say we're doing something unique [at Microsoft's press conference] and something more," Stewart told Digital Spy.
"As I said, it's a timed piece of content. It's still early in the process for us, we haven't fleshed out the full stories and what we're going to do.
"What we're saying is you will be able to play the game from start to finish, and the DLC will not feel like it's a chunk of the game taken out. It will be unique to what's happening after the story."
Stewart continued: "I think it's important to show people that we're actively looking at how to expand. In this day and age people have an expectation and an expectation of playing DLC is one, so for us there's tons of mystery on the island, which - even in a ten-plus hour game - it's going to be hard to answer everything.
"So it's going to be great to be able to look at those experiences and how to bring them to life afterwards."

It was recently revealed that Tomb Raider will not just be a single game in the franchise.
Last month it was confirmed that English actress Camilla Luddington would voice Lara Croft in the upcoming reboot.
Tomb Raider will be available on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC worldwide from March 5, 2013.

'It will not feel like a chunk of the game taken out'
Hint: If, before the game is even out, you've worked on and finished downloadable content not to be released with the game, then IT IS a chunk of the game not included, BECAUSE IT COULD BE PART OF THE GAME BUT YOU ARE CHOOSING TO HOLD IT BACK. BY DEFINITION IT IS A CHUNK OF THE GAME TAKEN OUT. 'Geniune' DLC is things made after launch date, retrospectives and innovations, things you didn't have time for during the dev cycle. Not things you DID have time for but held back for money. That's just a cynical ploy for more money, for things they could have easily put on the disk. Disgusting, and far too commonplace.

While I agree with you on what DLC is they did say they haven't even finished the story for the DLC, which to me means its no where near finished if the writing is still going on.
For them to not be thinking about DLC packs they could be releasing in the future is silly and not good business. Personally as long as the actual game is of good quality and a decent length I couldn't care less if they made the DLC before or after launch.
