"I have to be careful because I know exactly where she's going," Stewart told VideoGamer.
"You have to look at the future, you have to look at where... It's not just one game.
"At the end of this game we want her to be that strong female character that is willing to go and seek out mysteries and seek out tombs.
"She's going to be going to plenty of tombs in this game, but we're going to have somebody who wants to go on that adventure, who wants to be the person that she now is. That's the goal."
Earlier this week it was revealed that English actress Camilla Luddington would voice Lara Croft in the upcoming reboot.
Luddington is known for playing Kate Middleton in William & Kate, as well as roles in Californication and the next season of True Blood.
The game was recently embroiled in controversy over an apparent rape-attempt scene, with the matter later being clarified by the developer.

Tomb Raider will be available on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC from March 5, 2013 worldwide.

I like where this game is heading, but I'm reserving judgement for now. The last sort-of reboot of Tomb Raider was a total mess. However this one seems to be doing it properly, starting over from the very beginning, with only the basics of the character in-place, and dropping all the baggage of the previous games.

Not quite sure what to say, but CD is not lacking in confidence if they've allready confirmed sequels.
