While attempting to talk about the United Nations Security Council's involvement in the ongoing conflict in Syria, the news station instead showed the fictitious United Nations Space Command emblem from the Halo series.
It appears to be the result of a Google image search gone wrong, as a simple search for UNSC only returns images from Halo. This is perhaps because the UN security council does not have a logo of its own, instead using the United Nations globe symbol.
A BBC spokesperson apologised for the mix up in a statement to Eurogamer.
"BBC News makes every effort to ensure the accuracy of all images broadcast, however very occasionally mistakes do happen," they said.
"Unfortunately an incorrect logo was used during a segment on last week's News at One bulletin and we apologise to viewers for the mistake. The image was not broadcast in our later bulletins."

Anyone remember back in 2005 or 2006 when the BBC wanted to do an interview with Bob Marley who had been dead for then 24-25 years? OR the time they interviewed an "IT" person who turned out to be the taxi driver who was picking the real IT guy up or something?
