PlayStation Network introduces digital pre-orders

Subscribers will be able to purchase and install software in advance, and receive an unlock code to begin using it on the day of release.
Sorcery, a Move-controlled title developed by SCEA Santa Monica Studio, is the first game being offered up for pre-order, ahead of its May 23 release.
Vale's Steam platform offers a similar service, enabling PC gamers to purchase software ahead of release to avoid lengthy installs at launch.
Sony has announced several new exclusive games in the past few weeks, including God of War Ascension, PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale and PSN indie title The Unfinished Swan.
The PlayStation Network, which went live in November 2006, has more than 90 million registered accounts.

I would love it if they did this with GTA V on launch night. I'd rather download it instead of waiting in a long queue in the middle of the night..

Thats a much better way of doing it, but still not going to use it; not when the Store still charges huge prices for things that i can get cheaper else where.
