has been given a new gameplay trailer by Square Enix
The latest video highlights the many ways that Agent 47 can assassinate targets.
The graphic trailer showcases stealth tactics and more direct means of eliminating threats, from sneaking up behind an enemy and breaking their necks, to shooting nearby explosive cannisters.
The voiceover describes Agent 47's methods as "intimate and painless" or "gruesome and violent", promising a certain amount of player freedom to choose which.Officially unveiled at last year's E3
, the game will include new gameplay features, improved enemy intelligence and a new 'Instinct' mode that will help players blend into certain roles.
This is also highlighted in the trailer, as Agent 47 deals with a police officer and uses his outfit to penetrate a crime scene.
Described as the "most ambitious game in the series yet", Hitman Absolution
features a "living and breathing world, where every moment can become a story".
IO Interactive told Digital Spy
that Hitman Absolution
will be a "more personal story"
than previous games.A prequel novel titled Hitman: Damnation
will be released alongside the game, penned by former James Bond author Raymond Benson
.Hitman Absolution: Professional Edition
is available to pre-order now. The game launches later this year.
