Updated: 'Black Ops 2' confirmed by Activision, full unveil tonight

Black Ops 2 has been confirmed by Activision.

The publisher has updated its official website announcing a sequel to 2010 Treyarch shooter, and will release on November 13 on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
A near-future setting has been confirmed, following a viral YouTube video hinting it would be set 10 to 15 years in the future.

"Pushing the boundaries of what fans have come to expect from the record-setting entertainment franchise, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 propels players into a near future, 21st Century Cold War, where technology and weapons have converged to create a new generation of warfare," read the website.

The first trailer will be shown during the NBA playoffs in the US, which will begin at 7.30pm EST tonight, or after midnight UK time.

Several leaks had already confirmed that the title will be a sequel to Treyarch's 2010 shooter.















Morse code found on the game's teaser website spells the worlds Black Ops 2, according to Kotaku.

Meanwhile, VG247 has spotted that leaked assets from the website show a basic logo and box art, both revealing the Black Ops 2 name.

Over the weekend, it was reported that pre-order cards for Black Ops 2 were available at a US retailer, revealing a release date of November 13.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 multiplayer details were allegedly revealed in a leaked report last month.

The game will reportedly feature a brand new mode called Escort, and contain a new perks system and a fully integrated Elite mode.

Earlier this year, the conclusion of the original Call of Duty: Black Ops was voted the greatest game ending of all time by Guinness World Records readers.
