Gotham by Gaslight gameplay footage has been leaked online. The project, based on the DC Comics one-shot of the same name, was in production at F.3.A.R. developer Day 1 Studios between 2009 and 2010 before being dropped.
Gotham by Gaslight was written by Brian Augustyn and illustrated by Mike Mignola. The story takes place in 1889, pitting a steampunk Batman against Jack the Ripper.
Day 1 Studios' adaptation was in the works for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, featuring gameplay similar to Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City. The project was abandoned after the studio failed to strike up a deal with publisher THQ.
The footage, which shows Batman clad in two different outfits and exploring 3D environments, first appeared on Siliconera courtesy of a source at the development studio.
Gotham by Gaslight first appeared in print in 1989. It went on to spawn a sequel titled Master of the Future several years later.

I don't understand, why were THQ in the frame for publishing this? Get Warner in on it and let's see this as something we can play.

Very interesting. So would this have been a companion piece to the Arkham games? My mind is also buzzing thinking of a Gotham by Gaslight DLC story campaign for Arkham City...
