'Mario Kart 7' voted Digital Spy readers' favourite game for 2011

Mario Kart 7 has been voted the best game of 2011 in Digital Spy's end of year reader poll.More than 100,000 voted in the survey, which asked Digital Spy users to pick their favourite movies, music, gaming, tech and showbiz highlights from the past 12 months.

The Nintendo 3DS title emerged as the number one choice ahead of UK best-sellers Modern Warfare 3 and FIFA 12.
They were followed by Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim in fourth place and Rocksteady's Batman: Arkham City in fifth.
Elsewhere, Angry Birds Rio was named as the readers' best overall downloadable game for 2011.
