    I think it's only a matter of time. I'm amazed it's not already in a primetime slot on BBC America. But it took Doctor Who a few years to really establish itself in the US as well.

    He doesn't come across very likeable. All this US obsession is just a smack into the UK fans faces, telling them they're irrelevant.

    Cumberbatch says it right! Downton Abbey, although well made blah blah, isn't anywhere near as compelling and well produced as Sherlock and it does deserve the critical success Stateside.

    The second series really is amazing, even better than the first if you can believe that! I agree with Benedict, Sherlock deserves more attention than Downton in the US. I tried to watch Downton Abbey but I found it really boring, like they'd concentrated too much on it being a costume drama rather than a story that happened to be set in the past.
