I agree it is nothing that deserves a medal or anything more than just 'nice' :-)

No one said it is not a nice thing. But why is a hero when many people have done the same thing and much more? What is so exceptional in what he has done? Also, ask yourself how did this story get to the media? I'd bet his PR team leaked it as they like to do when his Lordship manages to do something right. Just look at the picture of the couple and BGT ID pass on the baby. It screams 'courtesy of Cowell PR'. Sorry If I fail to bow down to Sir Cowell like the media and some of this fans do.

One of the greatest charity donors in my opinion is an American man who gave over $250m+ to a charity and remained anonymous. No name, no spin, no charity gala rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous drinking champagne. That IMO is a hero just like many silent philanthropists

    Thank you!

A free lift in a car wouldn't get you from Edinburgh to Surrey to see the birth of your child. He wouldn't have got there in time without flying and with no flights available, he would have been stuffed without Simon's offer. It's an awesome thing for Simon to do, don't knock it.

I'm sure he's glad it got him in the papers. I would gladly pay to fly Mr Cowell out of the UK permanently.
