Nick M. Duffy It's no secret that 2011 was the year for the last big wave of blockbuster games for this generation of consoles - the best series have at least three years between instalments, because that's how long it takes to make a brilliant game, so the next big year for game releases will be for the next-gen consoles launch titles. I'm not expecting much at all from 2012 except junk from publishers who churn out a game every year, a few stragglers and smaller releases, and a few other games that have been in eternal development (IE Max Payne). E3 should be interesting though - I doubt we'll see console announcements this year, but if we do, it'll likely be a Project Natal style 'this is what we'll be talking about NEXT year' type-thing.
