They are also opposing DC Comics' announcement that one of its iconic heroes will soon be revealed to be gay.
"Children desire to be just like superheroes," reads a post on the One Million Mums website.
"Children mimic superhero actions and even dress up in costumes to resemble these characters as much as possible. Can you imagine little boys saying, 'I want a boyfriend or husband like X-Men?' This is ridiculous!
"Why do adult gay men need comic superheroes as role models? They don't but do want to indoctrinate [sic] impressionable young minds by placing these gay characters on pedestals in a positive light.
"These companies are heavily influencing our youth by using children's superheroes to desensitize and brainwash them in thinking that a gay lifestyle choice is normal and desirable. As Christians, we know that homosexuality is a sin."
The X-Man became engaged in this week's Astonishing X-Men #50, from Marjorie Liu and Mike Perkins, and will marry his lover in issue #51.
One Million Mums previously opposed the marriage of gay Archie Comics character Kevin Keller.
Writer Paul Cornell recently promised that his new Vertigo title Saucer Country would offend the organisation.

These 'mums' should concentrate on raising their children, after all 1 in 10 of them will be Gay!
Thanks mums, us Gays wouldn't exist without you heterosexuals!
If you don't like the way we are let GOD tell us NOT YOU!!! It's rather blasphemous to think you can speak for God!

Shouldn't they be renamed One Million Morons (even though there aren't even 1 million of them)

"Why do adult gay men need comic superheroes as role models?" Because there's no such thing as a gay teenager or child, all those suicides don't really happen, no one under the age of 18 is ever confused or scared by these thoughts.
Sorry, I'm not much of a comic book fan admittedly, plus it's only one small detail in the grand scale to pick out, but... really?

So kids are at risk of catching "the gay" by reading comics? Last I checked, its not something contagious, I've worked with a number of gay fellas and they have all been perfectly nice people, I'd much rather be stuck in a lift with a few of them instead of one religious nut job.
Plus aside from the fact that they're stupid, its not exactly one of the cooler X-Men that kids would want to be who have cool powers (Wolverine, Cyclops, Nightcrawler), its one who can fly and manipulate light.

I like how they use the argument that they will try to emulate them and turn gay instead of being worried that they may emulate them and jump out of a window. Good to see homophobes have their have their priorities straight.
