'AvX' success helps Marvel Comics dominate March sales chart

's success helped Marvel Comics claim a marketshare victory in March.
The publisher led the way in terms of both dollar and unit share thanks to strong sales of AvX
#0 and AvX
#1 is an April release, its order figures were eligible for inclusion in last month's data because it shipped early to cater for launch parties. The comic was listed as March's bestselling issue.AvX
#0 claimed second spot, while Avengers Assemble
#1 claimed another top five spot for Marvel, backed by increased publicity for the upcoming Avengers
' 'New 52'
titles continued to perform well. Justice League
#7 and Batman
#7 occupied third and fourth place on the chart, while the bottom half of the top ten was entirely made up of the publisher's books.
In the graphic novels chart, Image Comics' The Walking Dead
Vol. 1 took the top sport, while Hellboy, The Boys, X-Men: Season One
all cropped up in the top ten.
The stats saw Marvel come away with 36.21% of the dollar share and 39.94% of the unit share compared to DC's 30.95% and 36.09%. Overall sales for March fell by 5.89% in dollars and 2.07% in units shipped compared to the month previous
