'Beyond the Fringe': DC adds Becky Cloonan, Jhonen Vasquez to comic

DC Comics has announced new artists for its Beyond the Fringe digital comic.

Becky Cloonan and Jhonen Vasquez will contribute to the Fringe spinoff project, reports The Source.

The pair will provide artwork for the upcoming issues #5a and #6a.

The comic will alternate between 'A' and 'B' storylines every two weeks, with the former set in the main Fringe continuity and the latter offering alternate reality, 'what-if' scenarios.

Fringe star Joshua Jackson will be writing stories for the comics project, which will launch on March 7.

Cloonan is best known for her work collaborating with Brian Wood on projects including Demo, Channel Zero and the new Conan the Barbarian comic.

Vasquez is the creator of Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, Squee! and Invader Zim.
