The Source has confirmed that Grant Morrison will launch a new series of Action Comics alongside artist Rags Morales, marking the first Action Comics #1 since the title began in 1938.
"This momentous first issue will set in motion the history of the DC Universe as Superman defends a world that doesn't trust their first Super Hero," the issue's solicit said.
The title's sister series Superman is part of the relaunch, and will feature Crisis on Infinite Earths illustrator George Perez on writing duties and artwork by Jesus Merino.
Rounding out the Superman family of titles will be a new Supergirl series by Michael Green, Mike Johnson and penciller Mahmud Asrar, as well as Superboy from Generation X creator Scott Lobdell and artists R.B. Silva and Rob Lean.
The four Superman-related titles are the final titles announced as part of the 52-series relaunch of the DC Universe that was announced last week.
DC has already unveiled details of its revamped Batman, Justice League, Teen, Supernatural, and Wildstorm comic lines.
The DC Comics relaunch begins with Justice League #1 on August 31.

It hasn't done much to get me involved in comics, still rather confused and pissed off about the following of a story, which spins off into multiple mini-series, sister comics and exclusive "get yer wallet out" appearances in other titles, this coupled with the frequency of all these factors and issue releases just puts me off getting in to comics.

Hmm...so they're not really new series, they're just rebooting the numbering systems....kind've pointless if you ask me, but whatever. Will still continue to buy them. :)
