Shah Rukh Khan plans to buy Indian football club

The actor and co-owner of cricket team Kolkata Knight Riders plans to purchase a 50% stake in the Goa-based football club, NDTV reports.
"50 per cent of KKR's popularity is because of Shah Rukh... If he comes to football it will make a big, big impact - and a positive impact - on Indian football," said football star Bhaichung Bhutia.
The Sikkim player suggested that Khan's involvement in the sport would encourage other Bollywood actors to become involved.
"Personally speaking, I've been fighting, discussing a lot to get some investors into my team United Sikkim. So SRK coming to football will not only help Dempo but also others," Bhutia explained.
"If Shah Rukh buys a stake in Dempo, hopefully Salman Khan would be interested in coming to United Sikkim. If they come, it would take the game to a different level altogether," he added.
"The kind of mileage the team is going to get will be phenomenal."
Khan played the role of a football player forced to take early retirement through injury in Karan Johar's 2006 release Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna.
