Karisma Kapoor has had to speak four different languages for Dangerous Ishq.

Director Vikram Bhatt reportedly insisted on language lessons for the actress to ensure she met the specific dialect requirements.

A source told NDTV: "Karisma had to speak Urdu, Punjabi, Marwadi and Hindi in the film.

"Since her character travels through different past lives, getting these dialects right were extremely important. Her language skills would show where she belongs to and that is a very important aspect of the film."

Kapoor said that the emphasis on language was crucial and required a great deal preparation on her part.

"It was very challenging for me, though extremely exciting too. It involved a lot of research and learning. It wasn't simple just talking, but I had to get the pronunciations right. I had to keep it as authentic as possible," she said.

The source added that the dubbing process was made more complicated due to the use of so many dialects.

"It's been very tedious to dub in these many different languages and obviously it's taking a lot more time than it otherwise would. However, Karisma is being very patient and doing her best," said the insider.

The film's trailer release received 70,000 hits on YouTube in two days.

Dangerous Ishq also stars model Rajneesh Duggal and will be released on May 11, 2012.
